Victorian Builders strives to be a positive, encouraging presence in our community.  Our General Manager, Eva Squire, is a member of the Kingston Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, and has helped to plan fund-raisers for the hospital.  For the fourth consecutive year we are sponsoring a golf tournament to benefit organizations close to the Victorian Builders “family”, this year the Roundout Valley Food Pantry. Please join us in helping our neighbors while also enjoying a day of fun with friends.

Benefit Golf Tournaments

Our initial outing was presented in memory of Trudy Hoogendyk Carlzon, late wife of Project Manager Rick Carlzon.  We were delighted to raise $9,511 for Hospice of Ulster and Dutchess Counties, for their work with families and individuals coping with terminal illness.

Our second tournament honored the memory of Kathy Abrehamsen, who struggled with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs) for many years.  Kathy was the wife of one of Victorian Builders’ carpenters, Ed Abrehamsen.  This tournament raised $11,450 for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, with half of the funds going toward research to find a cure for PH, and half going toward patient and family services.

We focused our efforts locally in 2008 to address needs in our own community.  Many families and individuals in Ulster County cope with a quality of life that is not as comfortable or secure as our own.  We were pleased to raise $7,460 for the Rondout Valley Food Pantry and Family of Woodstock’s Darmstadt Homeless Shelter and Domestic Violence Shelter.
